LOMAH Pacific - Lower South Island Pick up

We scheduled the lower South Island of New Zealand pick up on 14 – 15th of November. For me it was a journey back to where it all began to a place where my family once called home. It was great to catch up with family and friends and form new acquaintances along the way. LOMAH Pacific is all about forging relationships with our local communities here in Aotearoa with a common goal to make a positive impact to our loved ones back in Fiji. I feel blessed to have made the trip from Christchurch to Dunedin then back stopping by at Oamaru and seeing the vision of LOMAH Pacific come to life. We are doing business differently by providing a high level of professionalism and at the same time coming in to encourage and build up our fellow Fijians.

I departed Christchurch at around 10am after a long 3hrs drive, dropped off a couple of boxes at Oamaru, had a short break then drove into Dunedin at approximately 4pm. I started my pickup from Northeast Valley where I caught up with an old mate of mine, not saying that he is old, then along the same suburb made some new acquaintances where I got to share the vision of LOMAH pacific with them and they in return shared one of the best chicken curry I’ve had in a while. From there, I made a couple of trips through Kaikoura Valley and Waverley taking my time with each customer having a chat about our different life journeys and how far we’ve all come. My final pick up was one close to my heart, it was getting late and having worked night shift the night before, my body was beginning to feel it, but my spirit was eager to go on. This last pick up was for my family and for me family is very important and is one of the core values of LOMAH Pacific - to make a positive impact to our families in Fiji. I called it a night just after midnight, had a good rest in Dunedin then back on the road to Oamaru for a few pickups then the long drive back to Christchurch.

The Oamaru pick up was just as exciting as Dunedin, I got to share the vision of LOMAH Pacific with our customers there. I arrived there a little after 1pm so had a bit of time to spare so I went to visit my family there who cooked up an awesome chicken palau for lunch. After lunch with the family, I made a few trips around Oamaru doing pickups and forming new bonds along the way. Then by 6ish, I was back on state highway one bound for Christchurch.

All in all, it was a very fruit full experience starting LOMAH Pacific, with this business, we have been meeting a lot of new people and have been encouraged to keep going for the benefit of our people back in Fiji. One question I keep getting asked is about the name LOMAH, why did we choose it and why? LOMAH is the abbreviation for Land Of Milk And Honey we chose this for its biblical stance and being here in New Zealand seeing all the opportunity here makes us want to share these with our people back in the islands. Its all about perspective, one may feel that New Zealand is the Land of milk and honey for me personally, New Zealand is the land of opportunity, my Beloved Fiji is the land of milk and honey.
